1. As the American population ages, elder abuse presents a growing challenge to the criminal justice system. As an under-reported crime, elder abuse is not gaining the attention it warrants. The Committee will identity existing elder abuse awareness programs and materials as well as develop new ones to heighten understanding among criminal justice professionals so that they better respond to this crime.
2. Identify training needs and opportunities on prosecution of elder abuse cases.
3. Conduct periodic communication with committee members.
4. Identify opportunities to collaborate with the ABA Law and Aging Commission.
