ABA TECHSHOW® 2012 Planning Board
Reid F. Trautz is the director of the Practice & Professionalism Center for American Immigration Lawyers Association, where he provides ethics guidance and practice management information and consulting services to members to help them improve their businesses and the delivery of legal services to their clients. He is an active author, blogger, and presenter on practice management solutions and innovations. He is co-author of The Busy Lawyer's Guide to Success: Essential Tips to Power Your Practice, recently published by the ABA Reid also currently serves on the Council of the Law Practice Management Section, and is a member of the GP Solo and Small Firm Division. He is a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management, and is admitted to the bars of Minnesota, Virginia, District of Columbia, and the U.S Supreme Court. When out of the office, Reid enjoys visiting amusement parks and exploring diners, drive-ins and dives with his wife and their three sons.
Britt Lorish is a partner with the Affinity Consulting Group, a legal technology consulting firm with 6 offices around the country. A former litigation paralegal and law firm network administrator, she has extensive experience conducting training on legal specific software and specializes in tailoring custom technology solutions for law firms. Ms. Lorish provides consulting, installation, customization and training for clients throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Ms. Lorish and her colleagues at Affinity Consulting are certified in a wide variety of legal software applications, including the top legal software packages used in most small to medium sized law practices. These include software for practice management, legal accounting/time & billing, document management, document assembly, voice recognition and litigation support. Ms. Lorish regularly speaks and writes on legal technology issues at the local, regional and national level.
Brett Burney focuses his time on bridging the chasm between the legal and technology frontiers of electronic discovery. Prior to establishing Burney Consultants LLC, Brett spent over 5 years at the law firm of Thompson Hine LLP where he worked with litigation teams in building document databases, counseling on electronic discovery issues, and supporting them at trial. Natalie is the Director of the State Bar of Georgia's Law Practice Management Program in Atlanta, Georgia. She provides extensive practice management and technology consulting to the members of the Georgia Bar. She is a Certified Consultant and Trainer for ABACUS Law, Amicus Attorney, PCLaw, PracticeMaster, TABS3, TimeMatters, Billing Matters, and Timeslips software applications; and a frequent writer and presenter on practice management and legal technology topics around the country.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Spelman College in 1990, and attended law school at both the University of Miami and Georgia State University. Prior to her employment with the State Bar, she worked as a legal assistant to a sole practitioner; and held law-related positions within the hospitality, commercial real estate, education, and communications fields. She also taught Law Office Management as an Adjunct Professor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. She actively participates in the American Bar Association's Law Practice Management Section and the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division. She has also been a member of the National Association of Bar Executives, the National Bar Association, and the National Association of Legal Administrators. Marc W. Matheny is an attorney in practice for over 30 years in general civil litigation, concentrating in the areas of family law and probate law in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is a past chair of the Indiana GP/Small Firm Section, a co-founder of the I.S.B.A. Solo / Small Firm Conference. He has served the ABA on the Planning Board for the ABA's Solo Small Firm Conference, and is also on the ABA TECHSHOW Board.
Mr. Matheny received his J.D. from Indiana University, and received his B.A. from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.
Mr. Lincoln Mead is the IT Director of the Utah State Bar and an obsessive fan of Cubs baseball. As the Bar IT Director he assists Utah attorneys with evaluations of practice management technology and manages the technology vendor relationships on the Utah State Bar group benefits program. Lincoln is a past Chair of IT section for the National Association of Bar Executives and is a member of the Law Practice Management Section of the ABA. He is a frequent guest lecturer for other Bars and law related organizations around the country where he speaks on technology policy, planning, implementation, and use. He is currently assisting the Utah state courts with educating attorneys on the court's new efiling system.

Erik Mazzone is the Director of the Center for Practice Management for the North Carolina Bar Association, where he provides advice on technology, marketing, management and finance. He is on the Editorial Board of Law Practice Today, a web-based magazine published by the ABA Law Practice Management Section and a member of the Program Committee of the National Association of Bar Executives. Mr. Mazzone is a graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School and speaks frequently in North Carolina and around the country on law practice management.
Donna is a solo attorney with a thriving estates and trusts practice in Ottawa, Canada. She attended TECHSHOW for the first time in 2006 and has attended annually ever since. She has implemented many of the strategies and tools that she has learned about at TECHSHOW. Donna was one of the early adopters of the paperless office. Her law firm’s website won a national award in the solo/small firm category. She speaks frequently on topics related to her area of practice and speaks to attorneys as she enthusiastically shares her experience in going paperless and how she uses technology to enhance her estates practice and improve client service. Donna joined the TECHSHOW Planning Board in 2010. She recently published a book (Simplified Estate Accounting – A Guide for Executors, Trustees, and Attorneys) and is working on a second book for families facing issues related to aging and incapacity.
Attorney Nerino Petro (Lic'd in IL & WI) is the Practice Management Advisor for the State Bar of Wisconsin's Practice411™ Law Office Management Assistance Program. Practice411's mission is to help attorneys operate their offices more effectively and efficiently. Nerino uses his 20 years of legal practice experience and experience from CenCom Legal Technologies (which he founded in 1994), to help Wisconsin lawyers and their staff deal with the practice management and technology issues confronting them.
