Things to Know Before You Go!

We look forward to welcoming you to the 19th Section Fall Meeting to take place October 12-15, 2011 at the JW Marriott at 10 S. West St. Indianapolis, IN 46204. Check out the schedule, speaker abstracts, and the current registration list! You can still register onsite! Visit the ABA registration desk upon arrival.

Onsite Guide
Please take review the Onsite Guide for the meeting. You will receive a hard copy onsite when you pick up your Conference materials. This includes the schedule of events which includes panel descriptions, up-to-date speakers and moderators, and the location of each event. You will also find other useful information about the hotel and the Conference. Click here to view the Onsite Guide.

Registration Hours and Information
The ABA Registration Desk will be located in the White River Foyer on the 1st Floor. To receive your badge and Conference materials, please proceed to the White River Foyer during registration hours.

The ABA Registration Desk will be open during the following times:
Wednesday, October 12                       2:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 13                           6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday, October 14                               6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 15                           7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Parking Information
The daily rate for onsite parking at the JW Marriott is $28.00. Valet parking is available for $32.00 daily. For further questions, please see the hotel’s front desk or concierge.

Wear Your Colors!
Section Dinner at the NCAA Hall of Champions – Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Put on your favorite team’s jersey and join your fellow meeting attendees for a casual evening of food, drink, and sports at the world-renowned NCAA Hall of Champions. You will have the opportunity to practice your favorite sports at the Hall’s interactive exhibits—learn how to ski, play virtual golf, or play real basketball on the Hall’s half-size court! Join us in the lobby at 6:45 p.m. to walk across the street to 700 W. Washington St.

One ticket is included in your registration fee. Additional tickets may be purchased for $75 at the ABA Registration Desk. To purchase additional tickets ahead of the Conference, email Julie.Connell@americanbar.org.

Speed Networking for Law Students and Young Lawyers
You’ve probably heard of “Speed Dating,” but what about “Speed Networking”? Young lawyer and law student attendees will meet one-on-one with several seasoned environment, energy, and resources law practitioners over the course of an hour at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 14th. This is the place to network and seek general advice from your colleagues and potential mentors and to discuss Section activities and initiatives that may be of interest.

Section Committees
To learn more about Section committees, please be sure to attend the Committee Get-Together Luncheon, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October, 14. This luncheon is your unique opportunity to meet and network with meeting attendees who share your practice area. Everyone is invited to participate in this informal event.

Dress and Weather
Section meetings are business casual. Suggested dress includes slacks, skirts, polo-type shirts or blouses, sweaters, and comfortable shoes. The hotel will be air conditioned, so please pack a jacket or sweater. Thursday’s dinner is casual dress—wear your team’s jersey and join the fun! The average temperature in Indianapolis in October ranges from a high of 67 degrees to a low of 54 degrees.
